About WelcomeDeck
The mission
Almost everything about travel has been redesigned around the customer, except the stay itself. Guests still arrive to laminated cards, PDF attachments, and a wall of text in a booking app. Hosts still answer the same questions on every booking. The industry settled for this a long time ago, and we don't think it should have.
We started with the guest binder because every stay has one and nobody reads it. House rules and WiFi become one tappable guide, and the boring necessities become profitable opportunities like late checkouts and upgrades. That's the first piece of a much bigger rebuild of how a stay feels, for the guest and for the host looking after them. The guide is where we start, not where we stop.
The story
We've travelled a lot. Early flights, late departures, city-centre parking at eye-watering prices. We know firsthand what it feels like to land somewhere exhausted and spend the morning hovering outside a property waiting for 3pm check-in. Or to scramble for a car park because the host either doesn't have a spot or it never came up.
When we got into hosting, we recognised the same friction from the other side. We hated the back-and-forth of messaging guests about pet fees or negotiating late checkouts. And we could tell guests felt just as uncomfortable bringing it up.
"Polite" guests often want these upgrades but feel annoying asking for them. And we felt annoying trying to sell them.
So we built the tool we needed: a beautiful, professional interface that presents these options as premium services, not favours. The social friction disappeared, and the revenue appeared.
The founder
WelcomeDeck is built by Evan, a systems architect with a background in automation and cyber security. He has spent years designing and securing systems in environments where reliability is non-negotiable, and he brings that same discipline to an industry he finds fascinating: hospitality.
He has lived both sides of a stay. The avid traveller waiting out a 3pm check-in after an early flight, and more recently the host reading the same questions in every booking thread. His way of working hasn't changed with the subject: find the friction, then build the system that removes it.
Our philosophy: experience first
Software for hospitality shouldn't look like a spreadsheet. It should look like the vacation your guests are paying for.
We work design first. When a digital guidebook is beautiful and intuitive, guests trust it more. And when they trust it, they are far more likely to purchase upgrades and follow house rules.
Built for reliability and trust
You are trusting us with your business and your guest relationships. We take that seriously:
- Secure, direct paymentsPayments run through Stripe. Card details never touch our servers, and payouts go straight to your account.
- Fast on mobileGuests often check their guide on the go. The guide is built to load quickly, even on weak cellular signals.
- No app installsGuests don't want to download another app. WelcomeDeck works right in their mobile browser.
- Native feelThe interface feels like a high-end smartphone app, and that polish reflects on your property.
Start earning more from every stay
The guide answers your guests' questions, and the extras earn on their own. You only step in when a request needs your approval.
